On Tuesday evening, the 60-voice choir, the Siskiyou Singers, directed by conductor, Mark Reppert, presented a preview concert for an enthusiastic Mountain Meadows audience. The choir was accompanied by pianist, Mikiko Petrucelli.
Their fall 2017 concert at the SOU Recital Hall will take place at 7:30 PM on Friday, December 8, and 3:30 PM on both Saturday, December 9, and Sunday, December 10.
The theme of the concert is “Alleluia." Each of the selections features Alleluia or Hallelujah in its lyrics and the program included pieces from around the world, from many cultures and eras, and in styles from Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" from the Messiah to Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." Many of the arrangements featured solo voices from the group. The selections were varied and challenging. Missing from Tuesday's presentation were the rhythm players who will perform during several of the pieces. So, if you want to hear the complete program, you can purchase tickets from any of the performers or from Paddington Station or the Music Coop.
