Four Short Plays by Fred Tonge
Friday Forum last week brought us a presentation by the MM Theatre Group. To a very responsive, packed house, they performed four plays written by our own talented playwright, Fred Tonge, who also served as director and publicist. Providing music throughout the performance was Donna Swanson at the piano. Narration of the plays was performed by Tom Buechele. Crew members were Lucy Strasburg, Stage Manager/Props, Donna Taylor, Sound, Richard Kinsinger, Video, and Donna Swanson, Musical Director.
The first play was entitled "So Lucky" and starred Mary Kay King and Bill Ashbey. In an hilarious dialogue between mother and son, he tries to convince her to accept a move from her family home to an active retirement community called Mountain Vista.
The second play called "All Hallows' Eve" featured Norm Crane, Richard Bee and John Tyler. Rick, the new kid in town, learns some unpleasant facts from his friends and his father.
Next, in a play called "Bookstore Encounter", a seductive customer, Carol Bee, entices the Bookstore owner, Richard Bee, to join her in the back room. We discover that she isn't what she seems. Applause covered the final sound effect of the shattered mirror.
Finally, "We Love This Place" featured Norm Crane, Kathy Knoke, Alan Berman, Marc Ratner, Gideon Wizansky, Joanne Crane, and siren, Dickie Wilson.
